Julia earned a degree in jurisprudence and is currently working towards a graduate degree in economic science. She began her teaching career as a university lecturer in her native Samara and in her spare time, she volunteered with programs run by JDC, the Jewish Agency for Israel, and the Lauder Foundation. She has applied this Jewish experience to her current position as principal of School 42 ORT Gesher. To enhance her knowledge and proficiencies, Julia attended the World ORT Leadership in Education, Administration, and Development (LEAD) conference held in London in November 2017. Julia names as her greatest professional accomplishment her success in building partnerships and initiating joint projects between the school and other Jewish organizations, including Hesed Esther, the Jewish Agency, and local synagogues. This is the best way, she believes, to strengthen and foster the Samara Jewish community.
