Oksana earned a degree in pharmacy and cosmetology and enjoyed a successful career in that field after completing her studies. Yet she felt dissatisfied and unfulfilled by her work, afraid that she was wasting her time. In 2010, as the result of a meaningful encounter with the Jewish community, Oksana began to explore her Jewish roots. She volunteered to help with various community programs and was subsequently hired as the director of the Zaporozhye JCC volunteer center. Four years later, she was appointed coordinator of Volunteer Community Ukraine. Oksana is single-minded in her goal: pursuing Tikun Olam through volunteering as a means of uniting and building a community.
